€2,500 government grant available to salons to build a website
If this crisis has taught us anything, it is that having a good online presence is now a necessity.
Salons need eye-catching, up to date websites to enable salons to continue trading even while their doors are closed. Combined with Social Media, Salon owners have a platform for communicating with clients, keeping them informed, offering hints and tips and above all, allowing them the means to purchase products and services online.
So it was fantastic news for the Industry when the Government has announced that they are increasing the Local Enterprise grant to 90% subject to a maximum drawdown of €2,500.
We have had confirmation that this grant will cover the following and can be for a new or upgrades to existing digital products:
- Salon Websites
- Salon Software
- Digital Screens
This is a response to the hardship that many small businesses are going through and to help them to sell their products and services online.
Obviously, as this is in response to the Covid-19 emergency, it is believed that this increased grant may only be available for 8 weeks, so we would advise you to apply for the grant as soon as possible and to take advantage of the assistance there for you.
The Irish Hairdressing Council has linked with Digital Salon, experts in all things digital for the hair and beauty salon sectors. They will help you apply for the grant and can walk you through all of the opportunities a great salon website opens up for your business. While it is tough not to be able to trade, it’s crucial we use this time to work on our businesses, so when we reopen we are stronger.
